HOLDING | SPACE: DE|CENTERING WHITENESS PRESENTS:
Racial Identity Exploration Workshop Series
In these hands-on creative workshops, participants will engage in a series of writing- and arts-based self-reflection activities that create layered—or multimodal—identity inquiry compositions. This workshop is designed to encourage and support White people to take a critical stance when understanding themselves, others, and the world around them.
These workshops are wonderful opportunities to hold space with new people (and can be equally powerful with those in your circles), to create and explore identity through various media, and then come together to share pieces of yourselves as an act of de/centering Whiteness.
Workshops are offered as individual events, but absolutely may be taken more than once and ideally, as a packaged series.
Part I: Social Identity Mapping
Part II: What’s “From” Got to Do With It?
